What is a Hiring Fair?
A Hiring Fair is a one stop shop method to interview, make determinations and begin the pre-employment process in one day. Below is a description of the various methods HR uses to onboard and share our amazing job. Most importantly the components of a Hiring Fair.
Job Fair
A Job Fair is an opportunity for a potential employee to connect with leaders to share their openings and information about their department
An Onboarding Surge Event is an invitation only event. This is where a person who has already been selected can have the opportunity complete the majority if not all their pre-employment requirements.
Hiring Fair 
A Hiring Fair is a one stop shop event that allows applicants to interview same day and complete majority if not all their pre-employment requirements.
WHAT TO EXPECT: “The Invitation”
Our goal is for you to experience a smooth process here in VISN 22. In order for you to receive an invitation, please ensure you apply to the interested career opportunity for the facility of your choice. Once you complete your application, you will be notified if you are qualified or not.
Qualified applicants will receive a “Notice of Results” letter via USA Jobs. Shortly thereafter, the applicant will receive a Hiring Fair Invitation from our Hiring Fair team inviting that includes an RSVP link for you to secure your spot.
When you arrive to the Hiring Fair, you will be greeted by your future co-workers that will direct you to the Check-In counter to get you on your way to start your journey to a “Career of a lifetime” along with a Hiring Fair Guide to ensure you arrive to your correct destination.

Depending on the lifetime career opportunity you have choose, you should prepare to complete all the available pre-employment activities that are present the day of the fair.
